Coach Williams began his coaching career with the Falcons in 1996.  As a volunteer assistant the first year he quickly rose through the ranks to become the main assistant to Joe Boone --the former Varsity Wrestling Coach. Since his involvement the Falcons on a state level have won 23 individual state titles and have 20 placewinners (runnerups included). Having been denied the overall state team title since his involvement they have been runnerups numerous times and are consistently in the top 10. Cox has won the Beach District Tournament Title 8X's and has won or shared the regular season crown 9X's since 1997. Prior to becoming Head Coach in 2003-2004 season he was an assistant under Head Coaches Joe Boone, Billy Guttermuth and Jamie Kelly.He has strived to follow these legendary coaches example and take the Falcons back to the top. Nationally he has coached 2 HS National Champions, 10 HS All-Americans, one current NCAA All-American and 2NJCAA All-Americans. Wrestlers under his tutelage have gone on to be involved in college programs at Arizona State, Penn State, Michigan State,Virginia Tech, Wyoming, NC State and Lindenwood University. He continues to coach during the summer months for the Virginia USA Freestyle/Greco National Team.
Corey Williams continues to set the bar for the program at a high level and strives to take the young men to their personal best. As a caring and extremely disciplined coach - Cox has a good future ahead of them. His personable nature and his techniques make him one of the most knowledgeable coaches in the area.  He is married to a Mrs. Laura Williams and the new father of Ira McCoy Williams III.  .
